This piece shows off the technical drawing skills of the artist and their ability to draw from a photograph. More accurate knowledge of the anatomy of the human eye and varied line thickness would improve this piece. The composition is interesting with an obvious focal point. The colours used for the rainbow within the iris are harmonious and well blended into a gradient.
Although not an original idea the intentions behind this piece are touching, giving the drawing an emotional and human connection that exceeds the artistic skills. The media used is commendable as it requires more effort than Photoshop.
My first critique, I hope it's okay! Clearly can see you spent a lot of time on this, and you can also tell you've had some meaning behind it (shown by the story in the description). Superbly detailed: the vessels in the eye are faint yet noticeable, the cornea is blended into the eye both sides very well and the colours are also blended with a clear quality. The pencil work is done very precisely, and it looks like you've used a range of pencils to get different tones too. I can't fault the eye really, I may say the part above the eye is a little too high and it makes the eye seem to be tall, but don't get me wrong this is magnificent. Great talent, keep at it!
Nice piece, you paid great attention to detail. There is one thing that bugs me, how this is cropped. It would look a little more professional if you cropped out the edges of the paper and the spiral bounding. But I'm nit picking. Nicely done.
The approximate use of Colours and Blacks make this drawing a detail oriented and attention grabbing piece. Very well done. A hint of dense eye lashes would have worked beautifully , nevertheless great work.
This is by far the most surreal and mesmerizing drawing of an eye that I have ever seen, for that matter, even of some photomanipulations I've seen haven't been this cool looking, at least to me. I'd say it's original. I really like the rainbow of colors in this.
Incredible work! Those details are absolutely mind-blowing! I love the way you drew the iris and all those little veins in the eye, not to mention that small moisture just above the lower eyelashes.
What I think could look better here are the eyelashes, they tend to look thicker than that when zooming this extremely, also note that on the reference picture, the eyelashes are facing forward more, they look a little too bended to the side here. And of course, you should definitely try getting a better quality photo of this, meaning that you try and crop the photograph and maybe enhance the colors to look more like the original. There's lots of free software to donwload for that, for example Paint.NET. Cropping itself can be done in MSPaint even, and I suggest pretty strongly that that's what you do right now. It doesn't look very professional or eye-catching to see the table or the edges of a sketch pad.
